Built 1880’s
202 Jefferson Street, Butler, Missouri

Catterlin_C_HouseClifford Catterlin came with his brother, John, from Ohio after the Civil War.  He settled in Butler and built this home in the mid 1880’s.  The bricks were home-burned in the kiln on Root Branch that stood near the entrance to the Old Welton Lake (on east Nursery).  The walls are nearly one foot thick and the front stairs is of walnut.  Cliff worked for Standard Oil Company and delivered kerosene in Bates County.
